LadiesBarr Wins Player of the Year

9th June 2016

First team captain Rebecca Barr won the London & South East Regional FL Player of Year for 2015-16. The prestigious award was announced at the league AGM and was presented to her at the next training session. During a testing season where the team finished 9th Becks excelled for the team, showing real leadership consistently which did not go unnoticed by the opposition.

On receiving the award, Becks was already looking forward,

“I’m really pleased to win this award, it was a tough season, but we got through it as a team and we will progress next season.”

First team manager was full of praise for his captain,

“It’s a huge accolade for any player, to be told that you are the best player in the league by every team you’ve played against, and it really couldn’t of gone to a better player. Aside from being a great player she has been a real leader in what has been a very tough season.

What makes her efforts even more impressive is that she was also essentially caretaker manager for nearly 2 months. Since I’ve been here (January) she has been brilliant on and off the field, she is a pleasure to manage and no doubt she will be even better next season.”
